With
education at the forefront of his priorities for the Dominican Republic,
Dr. Leonel Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic,
and President of
the
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (FUNGLODE), is in full support of
developing Samana College, the first study abroad college
to be located in Samana, Dominican
Republic.
Frank Minaya y Willmore, as co-Founder of Samana
College, CEO of
Inmobiliaria Minaya y Willmore, S.R.L.
which is developing Samana College, and whom also serves as member of
the New York Amistad Commission and Treasurer of
the Bahamas Education Culture and Science Foundation, Inc. (BECS) is working very closely with InteRDom to introduce new study abroad programs, and is additionally
working with Columbia University, Oklahoma University, University of Connecticut, City University of New York, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Samana College and FUNGLODE will be working closely
to develop reciprocal educational consortium agreements between the
Dominican Republic, The
Bahamas, the United States and
other countries seeking to support new study abroad initiatives,
and provide Bahamian, Dominican
and American students with an impressive range of study abroad
opportunities in each of the participating countries. |
